Bonjour and welcome back to my blog readers, today i will be doing a Part two current event by force from our teacher!!! So Monday to Friday i will be reading and blogging about a current event I read from Kiwi kids News and today article i read was New Zealand Police train super cat (which i also sawed on the news)      Click here to read this article

So the name of this Cat is Arnold and I think it's kinda cute having a cat as the Polices new secret weapon in their fight against crime, recently one of the police officers shared a video on Facebook of their latest recruit and so far this video has more than 1 millions views and 16,000 comment which is outstanding and amazing too, Arnold has also been practicing some new moves while hes at. Anyway I guess I'll now got to depend on Arnold the amazing cat to fight against crime.

Current events

Aloha and Welcome back to my blog, today i will be blogging about a article I read on Kiwi kids news. This Article is about Adams wins second Paralympic gold.

As we all know there is a big event going on in Tokyo called the Tokyo Paralympic and Adams who is the sister of Valerie Adams went on and represent New Zealand in the Women shot put.

And I'am Happy to say that Lisa Adams has won New Zealand’s second gold medal at the Tokyo Paralympics. She has also set a new Paralympic record in the F37 shot put, beating her rival Mi Na from China with a throw of 15.12 meters. And just by looking at the photos i could easily tell Lisa was really proud and happy, she also said during an interview that this was unreal. I was Really Happy for Lisa Adams after reading this article and i really love the stronger and unbreakable bond her and her sister holds.

A Lockdown cooking - Show & Tell !!!

Malo e lelei, and best greetings to you all. Usually every Friday the year 8 & 7 goes to tamaki college to learn about the different things that we are going to learn in college and the subject the year 8s are learning at the moment is cooking. And because of coronavirus which caused New Zealand to go into a lock down we cannot go to our cooking lessons. However you can always cook at home for yourself and your family. So we had a little task which was to cook breakfast for the family, which i couldn't see why not just do it and so I ask my siblings what they wanted to eat cause i have no clue what to make for them. And they all agreed to cupcakes, so i had to make it even though its not a breakfast type of food but i guess it will do, So yeah that's pretty much the whole reason why i baked cupcakes today and here's a presentation on how i baked them.

Percentages and Fractions

 Percentages and Fractions

Today Monday 16th of August my class and I did a little bit of math learning about Percentages and Fractions. The question we had to solve given from our teacher it says:

Miriama is making 'ei katu. 25% of the 'ei katu has pink flowers, 1/5 of it has yellow flowers, 10% of it has white flowers and he rest of the 'ei katu is made up of leaves. Show in Percentages or Fraction how many leaves were there to make the 'ei katu.

How me and my buddy Tiara solve it :

Percentages

So we know that 25% of the flowers are pink, 1/5 are yellow flowers and 10% is white flowers.

We first convert 1/5 into a fraction which is 20%, then add 20% + 25% + 10% = 55%

And a 'ei katu in Percentages is 100% because it a whole, so what we did next so 55% - 100% = 45%

So what this tells me is that 45% of the 'ei katu were leaves.

Fraction

For this we will have to first convert 25% and 10% into a fraction.

25% = 1/4

10% = 1/10

Then you'll have to add up 1/4 + 1/10 + 1/5 however if you know how to solve your fraction you'll already know that you can't. So you'll have to use your timetable and see if denominator in the fraction have a connections. And the number in the timetables the denominator has a connection with is 20 because 4x5=20 and 5x4=20 and 2x10=20.

(Here is a little drawing of part of the work to make it a bit easier for me to explain.)

In Fraction the Answer will be 9/20.

GOOD BYE :)

Viewing and Listening

aloha to you all!!! For the pass maybe 2 months my class and I have been reading a book written by Alan Gratz called Refugee. The reason why we are reading refugee is to know why refugee is a great book. And to put our self into the characters shoe to feel and understand the things they as refugee has been going through. Not only are we reading this interesting great book but this book was also chosen by our teachers to be our next Project Based Learning theme. And I already finished off one of the task in English.

Gymnastics session through Kelly's sport Zayde

 Gymnastics session through Kelly's sport

Kia Ora and greetings to you all, today I will be writing a summary on today's first ever gymnastics Session through Kelly's sport. Our gymnastic coach name Zayde taught us the important when it comes to Gymnastics such as being able to have an strong body position and using our arms for balance then taught us some body position and developed individual skill through 'Floor Work' such as the Tuck sit, Motorbike landing, angry cat, Happy cat, Straddle and the L sit. My personally favorite was the angry cat, the reason why I like the angry cat is because it has a really funny position. To do this angry cat position you first need to get down on your knees then both hands on the floor then you'll have to make your back go up while your face to looking at the floor and then hands and knees are on the ground.

Then we played a game where our whole class gets into a circle in our tuck sit position and in this game we would have to pass the ball in a circle, in order to pass the ball to someone you must use both feet while still staying in your tuck sit position. To me it was a bit hard having to lift up my feet to pass on the ball to the next person or when the person next to me pass the ball to me. However I felt like I put in a lot of effort into the game just by playing. Then after the game we played, Coach Zayde showed us how to do an handstand and we all try doing it our self. (Well I kind of try.)

Anyway that was I little summary, I hope you enjoyed!!!
