Malo e lelei, Kia Ora, and greetings to you all, Today's blog post are about what I did in food Tech ( Day 2 ) and what I made.
As we all know that we were all in quarantine well... for about 21 days ( I think ) New Zealand had no Cases of Coronavirus which is great and it all so meant that school is back open. And every Thursday Rm 10 to 8 goes to Technology and Learn something new Each Term. And for this Term, I'm in Food Tech which meant I will be cooking.
So Today My new Food Tech Teacher Mrs. Hamer Decided to make Banana Pikelets with Berry sauce and the People I made It with was Litia and Lemeki.
So here is how we made the Banana Pikelets

- 1/3 cup caster sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 25 g butter (cooled, melted)
- 1 egg (lightly beaten)
- 1 cup milk
- 1 banana (mashed)
- 50 g butter (for frying)
- Vanilla ice cream
Equipment:
- Chopping board
- Medium bowl
- Measuring cups
- Measuring spoons
- Frypan
- Saucepan with lid
- Fork
Method
- In a medium bowl, sift the flour and mix in the sugar and salt.
- Whisk in the 25 g of melted butter, egg, and milk until a smooth batter forms.
- Stir in the mashed banana.
- Heat a frying pan over medium heat and brush with 50 g of butter.
- Pour ¼ cup measures of batter into the frying pan. Cook until bubbles form on top and flip and cook through.
- After Cooking your Banana Pikelets add your Berry Sauce on top and some Vanilla Ice cream to end your Banana Pikelets. Then Enjoy : )
Berry sauce
- 1 cup fresh or frozen berries, 2 Tbsp water
- Place berries and water into a saucepan.
- Heat slowly over low heat with the lid on until berries have thawed and are bubbling a little.
- Remove the lid and continue to cook over low heat until most of the liquid has evaporated.
- Spoon sauce on top of pikelets.
I enjoyed cooking In Mrs. Hamers Class Today, One of my favorite skills I learned today was Flipping the Banana Pikelets.
